The Alderney Library

The Alderney Library is home to some 20,000 books, a purpose-built and cheerful children’s room, a reference area for quiet study, facilities for the visually handicapped and a workshop for book repairs.

On January 17, 2004 , after four years of tireless fund-raising, Alderney’s new library was officially opened. The enthusiastic Alderney Library Committee raised £200,000  to build and furnish the attractive granite-faced building.  With its own direct access from Church Lane, the airy library overlooks the stepped lawns of the Island Hall.
