Alderney Open Men's Golf Championship

5th to 7th June

This highly successful annual golf open attracts players from the UK, the other Channel Islands and from as far afield as California, all of whom compete for the prestigious Coursemaker Cup on Alderney’s challenging 9-hole golf course.

 

Friday offers a practice day before the competition gets into full swing on Saturday morning, for those who make the cut the Open continues on Sunday morning, for the less fortunate there is an additional competition known as the Stableford Cup. The weekend then comes to a close on Sunday afternoon, with the presentation at the Alderney Golf Club.

The 2007 Alderney Golf Open was won by Mr Sarahs a member of Guernsey’s St Pierre Park with a handicap of 10.

‘This is the biggest golfing achievement of my life, I wasn’t coming till the last minute but I’m glad I decided to play,’ he said.

The top few spots were very close and Mr Sarahs only won on count back against Sussex golfer and Alderney Open regular Peter Jones.
