Island Hall at 20:00: Alderney Music Society presents CANTABILE, a total mixture of pure comedy, charm and vocal virtuosity from Pop to Classics, Folk to Jazz and Madrigal to Musicals Founded in Cambridge as an �a cappella� group, Cantabile (aka The London Quartet) have developed their unique �trademark� style and have long been regarded as one of the world�s top vocal groups. Since coming to prominence in Tim Rice�s west end musical Blondel, they have attracted a following right across the musical spectrum. touring extensively in the USA, South Africa, Asia and the Far East. St Anne's Church at 19:30: Alderney Music Society - Southbank Sinfonia Wind Quintet. This wind quintet is part of the Southbank Sinfonia, an orchestra of young professional and firmly established as Britain�s leading orchestral academy. The Times described them as �a dashing ensemble, who play with an exhilarating fizz, exactness and stamina�. Their performance will include pieces by Patterson, Danzi and Ligeti. Anne French Room at 20:00: Alderney Music Society - Orsina Piano Trio (Piano, Violin, Cello) The Trio is an exciting new ensemble of musicians brought together by a shared passion for chamber music, with each member being a distinguished soloist in their own right. Marije Pl�macher (violin) and Nathaniel Boyd (cello), are both graduates of the Royal Northern College of Music, whilst Amy de Sybel (Piano), trained at the Krakow Conservatory of Music and the Royal College of Music. There performance will include pieces by Haydn, Schumann & Shostakovich. St Anne's Church at 19:30: Alderney Music Society - Northern Brass. Northern Brass is the latest exciting and versatile Brass Quintet to emerge from Manchester. Its members originally met at the Royal Northern College of Music and because they come from very different musical backgrounds, their resulting repertoire is both diverse and extensive. They have played with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Halle Orchestra, Black Dyke Mills Band and the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band Tickets available two weeks ahead of the concert date from Sara Fisher (next to Reynards), Members �12, non Members �15.
