Situated in a prime location on the very edge of one of Alderney’s finest sandy beaches Braye Beach has spectacular views stretching across the bay. This is the island’s only 4* Gold Breakfast Award hotel, with just 27 stylish and cosy beach-themed bedrooms, many of which have a balcony and sea view. Every guest receives a very personal welcome from General Manager Richard (recognisable by his big smile and red braces) and his friendly team.
Voted the 6th best hotel in the UK by TripAdvisor in 2014.
The AA Rosette restaurant looks out over the beach and breakwater and serves up fresh, seasonal and delicious meals. Head chef Steve meets local fishermen regularly and their catch will often be on the menu that night. Meals can be eaten on the terraces, or if you prefer somewhere more relaxed, then there is always the Divers Pub next door, which is one of Alderney’s oldest drinking venues and is very popular with the locals.
This boutique hotel on the beach has its own private 19-seater cinema, with large comfy leather seats and a library of films. There are two quiet lounges for relaxing, reading and playing games, a private dining room and free, good speed WiFi throughout the hotel, including the bedrooms.

Below are some of the lovely comments that we have received from guests.
“Fresh and comfortable decor, good food, good service – all brought to life by the excellent host skills of the General Manager Richard Proctor. The personal touches make it feel like a ‘proper’ hotel and not just a generic chain!”
“I stayed here nearly three years ago with friends, and when I knew I desperately needed some R&R, I knew I could stay here on my own and be completely taken care of.”
“Richard, what a magnificent effort by you and all the team for our wedding. It was simply amazing. Even if we wanted to pick a fault…..we could not. It was perfect. Your dedication and management is evident. Well done and thank you.”
“We just wanted to thank you very much for being so kind and fun when we were stuck on Alderney. Each one of you went out of your way to have a chat / commiseration with us. It was much appreciated. I am also in awe of Marie’s calm, organised cheerfulness.”
“We arrived on Bumblebee and were met enthusiastically by Richard (the manager). We were shown to our beautiful rooms, with a nice view of the beach. The room was spotless and had everything that you could want and a decanter of sherry which was a lovely touch. The towelling robesnand ‘proper sized’ hair dryer make all the difference from a nice hotel and the perfect hotel. Richard suggested hiring electric bikes on Sunday as we had walked all day Saturday, he even rang up and booked them for us…….. nothing was too much trouble. All these little things that the staff did made it the perfect weekend for me, and I shall remember it for a long time. We shall definitely be back.”
“Everything is meticulously overseen by the most welcoming flamboyant General Manager Richard who works tirelessly and charmingly to ensure you enjoy every minute of your stay. Richard makes you feel like you own the place from the minute you arrive and I am sure that even if you asked him to provide you with a pet elephant for your stay, he would somehow manage it with the greatest of pleasure. Do try it!!!”
