Ann Cleeves at Alderney Cinema

Sunday Times bestseller Ann Cleeves, the internationally renowned author of the series on which the popular TV programmes VERA (on ITV starring Brenda Blethyn) and SHETLAND (on BBC One starring Douglas Henshall), will be at The Alderney Cinema on Thursday evening, 22nd June talking about the fact and fiction of crime writing with Professor James Grieve, a forensic pathologist, who has played a crucial part in solving real-life crime and appears as himself in Ann’s most recent Shetland books.

This year, Ann is celebrating writing 30 books in 30 years, which have been translated into as many languages. Cold Earth is her 30th novel (once again features the enigmatic Jimmy Perez, brought to life in BBC One’s SHETLAND drama series by Douglas Henshall), and the basis for a new murder mystery written by her, to be held at The Georgian House on Friday, 23 June.
