Sea Fishing

Whether by boat or from shore, there are plenty of opportunities to fish in Alderney. With the sea never further than a few minutes away – no matter where you’re located – it is easy to grab a rod and go fishing whenever you want.

The island’s weather is mild, with powerful tides, rocky outcrops and sheltered sandy bays that provide plentiful stock all year round and the chance to land some magnificent specimens. Alderney offers something for every ability and experience and is one of the best opportunities for saltwater angling in the British Isles.

Carp Fishing
It is also possible to enjoy carp fishing at Corblets Reservoir, a man-made lake, though on a strict catch and release basis only. Fishermen must use unhooking mats and barbless hooks to minimise the distress to the fish. Corblets Quarry is a beautiful spot which is sheltered, making it an ideal location for fishing.  Find out more >
