Monday 04 August 2014

Cavalcade Day is one of the main highlights of Alderney Week.

Islanders celebrate the first Monday in August as a Public Holiday (in lieu of 25th August 2014)

Residents and organisations construct parade floats based upon this year’s theme “Treasure Island”, before walking them down High Street, through Victoria Street street and onto The Butes. After the judging and prize giving, games and entertainment follows. Lots of different stalls and food stands as well as the famous beer tent, bucks fizz bar, entertainment from the Alderney KFA dancers, the Alderney Blowers and the annual Pig Races. The festivities culminate with the big Tug-of-War competition.

Cavalcade Day is organised by the Alderney Week Team. Call 01481 824321 for more information or email
