Milk-a-Punch

This Alderney tradition originated from when islanders used to celebrate moving their cows out to their summer pastures at the beginning of May. Their celebrations consisted of taking a bucket to the field, milking a cow, cracking some seagull eggs into the milk, adding rum and nutmeg and drinking a toast to the new season.

Nowadays 'Milk-a-Punch' is served in pubs and clubs for free around the island. Enjoy!
